Friday was Fields' second birthday! Home boy is allllll about Mickey Mouse right now, so that was his party theme. Luckily he was only turning two and didn't care that it wasn't as "extra" as I could've gone (hello third trimester and kidney stone scare the night before.) We kept it pretty low key and just invited close family over - which is still a lot of people haha! I found a bulk pack of Mickey and Minnie ears on Amazon awhile ago and had those for all the kids (and some adults) to wear. So cute! I also bought a Mickey Mouse cookie cutter and made rice krispy treats and cut them into Mickey shapes and then dipped the ears in milk chocolate. Rather than going hard core Mickey Mouse club house, I leaned into more of the Disneyland vibe. If I'm being 100% honest, it was purely based on esthetic and the fact that Fields is not going to care if it's not a full on Mickey Mouse club house explosion at our place. I also cut up some pineapple spears and had popcorn in colorful cones that my sister helped assemble. For Fields' cake I cut out a silhouette of Cinderella's castle, made a banner that said, "Two" on it with the classical Disney font and shoved some sparkler candles into the cake. It turned out pretty cute. Luckily party planning Whitney was thinking ahead and only had everyone over for dessert so that I didn't have to do dinner too. We opened presents, and then started singing to Foo. He loved all the attention and all the blowing out of the candles! Then the kids all played together for an hour while the adults chatted until it was time to go home. A perfectly short and sweet birthday party for our happy little guy! I can't wait to see what his interests are next year to plan a party around! Here are some highlights of the evening.
