Even though it is just barely spring here in Utah, it's already time to start thinking about hiring a photographer for your extended family pictures! With the pandemic on the decline and vaccines becoming more easy to get I'm betting the first thing on everyone's list is to get together with all the family you've missed out on seeing this past year and a half. Hiring an extended family photographer is a great way to ensure that your family time is documented for your own history. I know some of you are internally groaning at the thought of having to rally the troops and get everyone ready for pictures, but I've got three reasons why you need to book extended family pictures.
1. Do it for mom.
With Mother's Day literally on Sunday, there is nothing better to give your mom than a professional photo of all of her kids and family in one place. You don't even have to have it ready to go - just a date set and family planning on it.
2. Family History
I'm really big into my family history - in fact, all of my boys' names are family last names as first names. To have something as monumental as an entire family and their branching generations in one photo is such a treasure, especially for future generations.
3. Knock out your own family pictures in one session.
I work really fast, so fast in fact that I always have time for mini sessions and break downs of individual families. Usually starting with the family that has the youngest kids so that they can relax and not have to worry about pictures once their turn is done. Easy peasy.
Just think, you could have gotten your mom a great mother's day present, have added to your family's own history and knocked out your Christmas card picture all in under an hour. Not bad if you ask me! So while you've got this on your mind, start up a group text with your siblings and see who's coming to town this summer. I can promise you that you will never regret having the picture taken.
