I loved this session! You know you have the best clients and friends when they wake up super early and drive over an hour with their family to be at a location at 7:45 am - and then have to turn right around to get back to Salt Lake City for a work meeting. The Brays are not only my friends, but my neighbors and are (luckily for me) always down to explore and find fun and beautiful locations. Kara and I are kindred spirits in our quest to explore Utah. So it was no shock to me that they loved the idea of checking out the Mantua Poppies at the boxelder campsite. It was their first time seeing the poppies and they put on quite the show for them - especially with the field all to ourselves thanks to my early morning, weekday shoot, trick! Their little guy wasn't too sure about pictures at first, but warmed up to it by the end. Since these were just mini sessions we shot for 15 minutes. And it was just the perfect amount of time for little man. Since we stayed pretty much in the same spot I mixed up the poses and we were able to get so much variety without wasting time walking to the next spot. I love taking pictures of little kids in the poppies - mainly for the fact that the flowers are as big, if not bigger than the kids! Q loves smelling and looking at my flowers I have in my yard at home, so the combo of these poppies and his cracker helped ease him into pictures. I still can't believe how many cute shots we got in the short amount of time that we shot! Would you ever wake up early to do a morning shoot if it meant getting pictures like this?
